Ondas’ new VX555HD is a compact 3.0″ screened media player which packs a serious punch when it comes to video playback. Armed with the CC1600 media processor, the player is able to support high resolution videos upto 1280×720 resolution, something that most big brand media players of the same size can only dream of doing and to top it off it also has TV out.

The small compact size makes it convenient to carry in your pocket, although the music interface is rather simple, the small size and the good audio quality make this also a tempting audio player. The player does also have a Cirrus Logic audio processor, making audio quality sound even more refined and crisp.

The player has a 3.0″ screen with a standard resolution of 480 x 272, images do look good, but it does not flatter the players ability to handle high resolution videos, any videos with a higher resolution than the actual screen will not look any more crisp than say a video that was of the same resolution of the screen.

Overall the VX555HD makes for a good compact video player, capable of support high resolution videos, it also makes for a compact DV player and would be alright as a general audio player. The best thing about this player, apart from its features, is its price, at only $79.50 for the 8GB.

Looks nice. Seems a little thick to me, but I don't own a 3" player, perhaps they're all this thick? Price is good.

thicker than the OS-81, but its the same thickness as the old VX757

have you tried aac playback? how about album art and shuffle play?

You seem to still have problems with the vids it does end pritty suddenly.
But about the player I think this could be a bestseller Raz, the combo of the chip and a 3 inch screen would make this indeed also a quite nice music player

I like the size,but it still is a pushbutton as opposed to a touchscreen....when are the touchscreen 1600's coming out?

I don't think they ever coming dragon2knight, I think the Jz named chip that will follow be the one that got touch in the future.
I'm really curious when the moment is there the cc1600 chip is outdated and the Jz chip takes over. I'm gettint the idea that we don't have to wait for that very long.
