just seen that Raz has added JXD gaming tabs to the shop

cant remember him ever selling JXD before, but i am getting old, anyway these seem cheap and have, or appear to have all the knobs and gear for large screen gaming .. seeing as the WII U is doing such a great job

definately time to start video reviews again raz and convince us that JXD are worth investing in

I look at these JXD devices from time to time, but never actually got one. It's always glass is half full, glass is half empty with them. There is a smaller niche market for a Android tablet w/ hardware gaming buttons. They have to keep the price point low to stay away from PSP/DS territory, so they always end up w/ lower specs than what I'd want in a MP4 or tablet. Also if the buttons or controller are stiff, it defeats the whole purpose of buying it for gaming.

But on the other hand, the price is so low, it may be something to buy and try to play around with.

I think buttons would be best for emulators. Also you can use them for Android games like FPS or fighting games. Espcially when you are playing games that you'd normally use a joystick on the PlayStation, Xbox or Nintento.

I just took a look at Top Paid games on Google Play.

Call of Duty Black Ops Zombies - FPS
Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour - FPS
The Dark Knight Rises - Fighting
Shadowgun - FPS
The Amazing Spider-Man - Fighting
N.O.V.A. 3 - FPS
Dead Space - FPS
Modern Combat 3:Fallen Nation - FPS

This kind of makes things a bit difficult for vendors making Android tablets w/ buttons. Getting different games to work properly w/ your device. Also you have low resolution games from GBA emulators and high resolution games like Call of Duty Black Ops Zombies from Google Play. It's an investment of time and money that vendors may not have to devote to a device that still has to be relatively cheap. So I'm a bit less critical of these game devices because they have a unique hurdles to cross, but I would really like to have an option for hardware buttons for FPS games.

Personally, I think touchscreen works great for regular Android games like Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja.

Not necessarily. I think you'd still have to map the buttons to the controls. The added bonus of the hardware buttons is that you don't have your thumbs covering up part of the screen while you are playing. For example, I remember seeing a YT video where a reviewer had problems with the D pad on Street Fighter. He couldn't do the Hadouken using Ken/Ryu.

I only ordered a few to see what the response will be like. The tablets look nice, but again, they're more products i have not tried. Going to do one of them for a video review later this week :) We also have some of JXD bluetooth speakers, those actually sound quite good.

@Mad we did sell JXD before, we used to sell a lot of their JXD 301, it ran on a ADI blackfin processor and a lot of people were into it as there were quite a few customs roms with emulators build into them. Apart from that model we never really sold any other JXD player or tablet till now.
