Pros:Overall
+Punch, powerfull, good-detailed bass
+excellent comfort and sound isolation
+durable cable(but not as good as M1's), nice metal body
+impressive accessory list for this price
Cons:
-Mids not as good as M1's, pushy mid-bass fights with mids and sometimes win
-Not detailed(compared to M3) in fact, but for this price it's very good
Recommend for bass-lovers. (Posted on 4/5/13) - Amazing earhpones with a great price.Review by Nicolas

This earphones can't be beaten for the price.Overall
Amazingly well-built and good looking, they also provide excellent sound quality. The cable looks good, and the L-shaped gold plated 3.5mm jack is just great. Lots of accessories, including a very sexy (black and red) hard case to protect them.
The sound signature is pretty neutral (although a bit warmish), but with little EQ the bass gets extremely punchy and fun and great clarity comes out. Overally, the earphones provide excellent sound quality suitable for every music genre.
VERY pleased with the product, 5 stars. (Posted on 3/14/13) - Awesome headphonesReview by Sourav

I purchased these off a friend who got a pair of Sennheiser headphones, can't remember which one exactly. Anyway, he's a bit of an idiot and it was proved when he sold me these AWESOME IEMs. I would never sell them to anyone if I purchased it. Loved the highs and mids on it! The Brainwavz M5 is a well-built, well-accessorized, and comfortable earphone with sound that puts it at the top of its game. Its sonic signature won’t do for those looking to maximize clarity but it is sure to please fans of warmer, smoother sound. Better still, the M5 improves in many ways on the older M1, M2, and ProAlpha models without hiking up the price – an amazing accomplishment considering how far ahead of the competition the original Brainwavz earphones were upon release just a few short years ago. These are some good phones. I have been using a B2 but switched to these because the lack of bass in the B2s.Overall
The sound of the M5 is ok, good details, wide soundstage. Maybe it sounds a bit plastic after the B2s.
The customer service is very kind. When I received my M5s, the left channel was not working. But I announced the Customer Service and they replaced my buds.
Packaging is very nice as with all Brainwavz products. Lots of accessories (tips), nice case, there is plenty of space for my Sansa Clip+ to fit next to the buds. Good build quality!
There are some microphonics that can be reduced using the foam tips and/or wearing over-the-ear. (Posted on 11/29/12) - Great for this priceReview by Florian

Great natural sound. The M5 are M3 with more bass ;) (Posted on 10/12/12)Overall - It's Great... for it's price.Review by Kenny

To start off, the M5's are amazing for it's price range. HOWEVER, because I have been using my DT990 Pro's for a year or more, my ears are spoiled by quality.Overall
The Build:
The quality of the build is quite solid. The cables on the other hand, might be a different story.
The Sound:
-The Lows: The bass response on this IEM is really good. I use them when watching movies because it feels like I am in the cinema with a roaring bass. Tested it while watching The Avengers in BluRay. The bass also doesn't overpower everything else. Which is really good.
-The Mids: When I first them on, it sounded really muddy. But that would probably be because I am used to clear and concise sound from my DT990. However, it is still pretty good for the price range.
-The highs: The sound of voices so far has been good. You can clearly hear what people are saying or singing. Instruments played do not sound harsh to the ears so that is a major plus.
-overall: The instrument separation on this IEM is pretty good too. You can hear individual instruments playing if you try enough.
-The Isolation: The sound isolation on the earphones are pretty good. The range of ear tips they provide is wide enough to fit most ear shapes. There is also a foam tip for those of you who like them. Passive sound cancellation.
The Summary:
This IEM is amazing for it's price. Also a good starting point for people with a budget and also good for people who are looking for a simple IEM to go around town without having to lug their large headphones. (Posted on 9/29/12)
