Keep out!
  • weak bass, no acoustic of mids (no soundstage, congested soundstage etc. name it as you want). nearly all of the instruments are coming from the exact same point, which means the loss of acoustic details.

only good side of this earphone is the detail level of the treble but it's treble production still not sounds good as the devices with wide acoustic. main frequency (bass, treble, vocals, mids) separations are fine, so it does not sound as congested as some absolutely bad models in the earphone market but it still a way behind of others.

if you want an earphone from brainwavz, go for r1 or s1 (i wasn't happy with the treble performance of s1-s5 before but i found a solution = lowering the 8khz from the equalizer resolved my problems).

conclusion: i say don't waste your time on this one and i don't understand why they're still selling this. if you ask me, you need to be a complete beginner to like this earphone, just like the m4-m5 (but i've to say, even m4-m5 is better than this). i hope this helps, have a nice day!

Impressive, worth the buck
  • I received my M2s in the mail and I'm really impressed by the quick delivery within 2 days. I'm not an audiophile, but I am quite happy with my M2s.

The sound is warm. The bass is not 'thumpy', but is sufficiently controlled. I was hoping that the bass would be just a bit more distinct though. Overall it is pleasant sounding, and I think it is good for listening to mainstream pop, hip-hop and r&b.

The built quality is decent, though only time will tell if my M2s will last. The cable is coated with glossy plastic, which I think helps to minimise cable tangling. Though it also makes the cable slightly rigid.

Overall, a very decent pair of earphones.

  • I'm quite disappointed with this headphone. I previously owned a Sony headphone from BestBuy for $30 and it sounds much better than these ones. The clarity just isn't there. To add insult to injury, I got a mail from Fedex the next week to pay $14.12 ("duties") for this shipment.

Awesome budget earphones
  • I just received my Brainwavz M2 ear phones and the product is worth every penny paid.

The bass is not too powerful but doesn't crackle even at high volume. Sound clarity is also amazing.

Good choice but needs equalizer
  • Bought them with free gift Fiio E6 and the deal made me happy ) I knew it's the one the most popular models of IEMs in this price range, so I expected more exciting sound than Soundmagic E10 ehich I purchased before and M2 gave it to me. The bass is much more deep and powerful. But overall sound is slightly dark and more higher class source you connect, the more dsarker this IEMs feel. It fits smartphones but I don't recommend to use M2 with players like iBasso DX50, Fiio X3 and higher.

Armed cable is very reliable but rubber cups often fall from earphones. Sometimes plastic and metal parts of the housing also twists one from each other.

Great IEM's
  • Received these a few weeks back and they are excellent. The Bass is great without overpowering the mids and highs. They are really good for the money. Excellent value.

Best IEM at the price for true Bassheads!
  • Sorry for writing the review lately. I bought this in June last year.

Previously, I have been used another IEM below $20 price range and I loved it. But still it was not giving that punchy bass which I was looking for. Then a friend suggested me to buy a Brainwavz M2.
    And it was The One!

I ordered it from Mp4nation.net and opted for Free FedEx Worldwide Delivery. I got it at my doorstep on the 3rd day after placing the order. I don't think one can expect a faster delivery than this being in another country.

The package has a pair of foam tips and 3 pairs of ear tips from which you can choose your best fit for noise isolation and comfort. But the real thing is the hard case which comes in the package. I am still using the case and apart from protecting my earphones, even the case itself doesn't have a crack, tear or scratch.

Ok so, when I fitted the best size ear tip and tried the IEM, it sounded blunt! I didn't get any bass, treble was ok and little mids. I was very dissappointed. Then I started to burn-in the IEM with online burn-in webistes and with my mp3 player and kept it on the whole night. In morning after about 10 hours of burn-in I found it giving a decent bass and lows, the mids and vocals have become more clear and highs were great! Then I kept it using with my mp3 player regularly and alternately I kept it in burn-in mode.

Finally, after more than 120 or 130 hours of burn-in, I found the bass quite deep and thumping, just what I wanted and I could hear all the elements of the music clearly in a song which were not so clear with my earlier earphones.

Finally I can say that after proper burn-in:-

Pros: Soundstage is very good, has a deep punchy bass and the sound clarity is great. Noise isolation is excellent and the braided cable used is quite sturdy and would not get tangled easily. IEM Case provided is excellent.

Cons: Bass may sound too heavy for some people who would not want to compromise clarity for some elongated booming bass. Also, gradually the port hole on the IEM may cause some wind noise if you happen to walk outside in an environment with lots of wind.

I have compared it with Klipsch Image S4 IEMs and I can say that it sounds at par with those.

My Rating: 4-4.5 out of 5.

Awesome upgrade of M1
  • M2s are excellent. I've fallen in love madly with my first IEM, the M1. After trying bunch of other, Brainwavz or even other brands' IEMs, M1 sounded the very best for me. So I was a little bit skeptical about my satisfaction with the M2. I'm absolutely not a basshead and I listen mainly to many flavours of metal, and then some dnb, and basically everything in between. Reproduction is of lossless 16b/44kHz FLAC through a Sansa Fuze.

Okay, so to my first impressions - I was left speachless. They are better than M1 in every aspect, highs, mids and lows, while still keeping that fun warmy signature of M1, which I loved so much. Mids and highs seem more acurate, the soundstage is wider and the separation of instruments also sounds better to me. The low end is another story. I've read, that M2s have a lot of bass and really satisfy bassheads. M1s were really very bass light and the M2 is a great improvement over them. The bass is definitely there, extends very well deep, but at the same time is really fast, dynamic and precise. The bass does not bleed at all and is really acurate. It is strong, but not overwhelming. Now I can hear bass guitar in each and every song, even though I almost didn't notice it with M1s.

My overall impression of them is that they sound very, very well, with nice detail and fast deep low-end. They had no problem to fit every genre of music I listen to, so I would recommend them as universal. Furthermore, if you like your M1s, like I did, then definitely go for M2s, you will fall in love with them. They are definitely worth every cent of their price and if you can get them at a discount, there is really no reason not to buy them.
