Balanced Sound
  • If you looking for bass it might not meet your expectation but it is really good if you like balanced sound. Build quality is fine for this price.

Beautiful vocals
  • First, I have to say, I was very impressed with the cable of the M1s. It looks cool and it's very strong, so don't worry there's no strain relief on the buds, I do believe you don't need it. Lightweight and comfortable, these IEMs offer a great natural sound, the sound shape is a flat to slightly treble one, so I recommend that bassheads should look for another product. Unless you don't pair it with the Brainwavz AP001, that's what I do and it works great, it adds that extra bass kick I need, just the right amount. I really love the mids of the M1s, very beautiful and I can say delicate vocals representation. All sound frequencies sound great and you can hear everything there is in your music.

Beautiful Sound
  • Hi, sorry for my English.
I own the Sennheiser CX300 first generation, but these can not be compared with them.
The sound is detailed and balanced on all frequencies, with the precise sound stage.
These are not for bass lovers, but being neutral, they can adapt to any kind of music.

I think I have done a great home buy.

Super sound quality, but ease of use lacks a bit
  • I own these IEMs approximately a month now. And I use them on average 2 to 3 hours per day.
After one month, I noted several things. First of all, the sound quality is extremely good for this price. I have had other (cheaper) in-ears but these have so much more detail than the other ones. Bass might be a biiiiiit too much. But mids and highs are both well represented too, which lets the bass not disturb them. When comparing them to my AKG K420 on-ear headphones I must say that the difference in detail is almost not noticeable. Of course, apples and pears, but still. These M1s are just awesome when it comes to sound!
Noise cancellation is also quite well. When I listen to music and my roommate talks to me with normal voice (3m distance) I don't even hear him. I do hear high tones, in particular.
But now when it comes to the ease of use I have some doubts. First, the cable is sturdy, which on itself is a nice thing. Yet it keeps 'tangled' because I roll 'em up when I store them. This is quite annoying sometimes. Moreover, the cable is too sturdy to us it over ear, since the curl is too wide so to speak. Furthermore, without checking the print I don't know which is the left and which is the right earphone. On other earphones, there is a 'feelable' mark on the left earphone so that you can put them in your ears blindly.
    Overall, big bang for buck!
PS: sorry for my English (not native).

Brainwavz changed my perspective on earphones!
  • Ever since I can remember, I was using regular earphones that you'd get with a cell phone or a cd player. I didn't know IEMs even existed until I came across an ad from HeadFI on some page showing Brainwavz M1.
I didn't even know what HeadFI was so I decided to check it out. After browsing the forums and reading to the overwhelmingly positive reviews about IEMs I decided to try them out, specifically M1. And boy....was I blown away!
Never have I experienced such a clear sound and power from earphones! Never! Not to mention the comfort. Man, I could wear them for hours on end without experiencing even the slightest discomfort or pain in my ears.
And the added bonus? You can wear them while riding a scooter without even hearing the engine! I'm not joking, they're that good!
Add the fact that they're very durable and very solidly built and you simply can't go wrong.
Now to the less than flattering bit - the price. Yeah, they are a bit pricey and I won't lie but they're definitely worth it. I usually make a point by buying expensive but quality built stuff and Brainwavz M1 are no exception to that.
So I say go for it, treat yourself to this awesome audio extravaganza, the moment you put these in your virgin ears you'll know where your money went. ;)

Very enjoyable...
  • Bought this IEM as I needed a new pair. Was expecting more bass from the M1 as I was a bass-head. As time goes by, my preference towards music changed. I started loving the M1 even more because of the detailed and clear sounds produced. The bass is very tight and noticeable but it won't shake your head. The sound stage on the M1 are also very impressive.

The M1 is the best IEM I've own at this price range. Would recommend the M1 to anyone who loves music and are on a tight budget.

Top Brainwavz model between their range
  • I have this earphones since a couple of years ago and it is a good moment to do a review of them.

This model is awesome. I have tried M1, M5 and R2 models fron Brainwavz and M1 are the best of them and between all earphones of others companys that I have had by the moment (and I can say that it is A LOT of them really).

Clear sound, a very great bass, solid constructed and awesome "anti-knots" cable... I love them! No doubt that when they dead I will buy another M1 pair
