Product Description:

The BRAINWAVZ B2 are based on a dual balanced armature configuration, which is very different from the rest of the BRAINWAVZ line which is based on dynamic drivers, as such the BRAINWAVZ B2 has quite a different sound from the rest of the BRAINWAVZ stable.

The B2 sound signature is one of detail, with wonderful mids, clear highs, wide soundstage and a bass that many would coin as just right. The sound would be best summarized as being well rounded, that each part of the sound spectrum is well represented provide a truly balanced sound.

BRAINWAVZ B2 earphones will come with a 1 year swap for new warranty, should anything go wrong with the unit, you only need to send the earphones and we will send back a brand new unit sealed retail unit to you.

Great analytical sound
  • The B2 are one of the best IEM you can find in the market, I will describe the weaker points, because you can watch a lot of reviews describing the good ones.
The bass are high detailed, but needs a little power to be perfect (i hate sq so i didnt consider it as an option).
The comply red tip is the best companion for the B2 but you should buy a lot, because the included in the package have a discrete durability.

If you hate punchy bass and dont care about tips, this are the perfect choice for you.

Analytical Sound
  • After picking this IEM from a great price from MP4NATION, I had performed a 40 hour burn-in using pink noise (I do this to all my IEMs and Headphones)

The B2 IEMs have to be worn over the ear and with deep insertion into the ear canal (this creates a good and proper seal). The included Comply T400 RED tips are very comfortable and the resulting sound is absolutely fantastic. The Bass is prominent and fast without being overly bloated. These IEMs shine on the mids and highs ... the detail in the music is very prevalent (you must use high bit-rate encoded MP3 or lossless encoding such as FLAC, APE, etc ... you will hear the flaws in the music if they are not encoded with high quality codecs) I use these IEMs on a daily basis (regularly used the RE0 before) and now they are my go-to IEM.

Very pleased with the product and price that MP4Nation offers.

clean sound
  • This IEMs one of the best I've ever bought. Its an analytical earphone and clean, detailed sound is great for jazz music.
Its packaging is satisfying.Build quality is quite good. Cable and red comply tips are so nice.
I think it is the best IEM for this price.

my Favourites
  • After receiving these headphones immediately clear - producer tried over the design . All at a high level . Workmanship deserves praise. Loved the twisted wires that are not entangled in use. Comfort fit in the ear perfectly (as in laying the cable behind the ear and under normal wearing headphone wires down). Mic effect is almost invisible . The sound is very detailed , accurate and fast , but as reinforcing umnogih headphones. Advantage dual balancer armature design before one driver available. Bass in my opinion sufficient and in full, though it takes a careful selection of nozzles and headphone position on landing. Loved the sound and they are my favorites for portable sound. The cost is justified for such quality sound. They are not suitable only for lovers of bass and detailed listening experience.

If you love neutral sound won't spend a lot more than 100€:
  • This is the IEM for you to go for! Once you learned to live with the thin, let's say neutral, clarity of this very small and just lovely build fellas, you'll aks yourself: why shall I probably spend double the price on another IEM from a "big" manufacturer. Not for bass lovers!

super value
  • Where I come from:
I currently own a pair of Grado SR60 for my home audio setup with a SB x-fi elite pro. Also a pair of Audioengine A5 as my reference speakers.
Cowon D2 with Sennheiser PX100 II and a pair of Soundmagic PL50 for on the move.
I consider myself a practical audiophile on a budget(if something like that ever existed :)) and by that I mean, like most of us, I do put a lot of thought into my audio purchases, which are on a shoestring budget, but I buy new stuff only when the older ones go bad.

    Compared to Soundmagic PL50:
So I bought my Brainwavz B2 as a replacement for my PL50 that've just recently gone bad and I do sorely miss them. They were my favorite pair out of the one's I've owned.

Compared directly to PL50, the B2 is more fuller sounding with a more bass extension. Plus the sparkle at the top end that don't seem to exist on the darker sounding PL50's. B2's sound much more airy with a soundstage. also which PL50's lacked completely, me thinks. They also do have more instrument separation than the PL50's.

But as someone's said very rightly, a downgrade is immediately much more apparent and easier to pinpoint than an upgrade, and so I do notice B2's shortcomings when compared to the much cheaper soundmagics. I feel the PL50's bass has a better resolution than the B2's, provided you've got a good seal on the PL50's, and believe me, that's one helluva chore. Also, the mids on the PL50's were liquid, smooth as silk, and oh dear god, that makes me miss the PL50's so badly, I wanna buy them again, but then practicle audiophile argument, you see. Don't get me wrong, B2's do have good mids, but they sound a bit harsher compared to the PL50's.

It's probably gonna take me some time to get adjusted to the B2's well extended treble. As much as they offer the clarity, they become tiring for me after a while. Mind you, I've never had a pair like this before. Vocals, pop, jazz and live stuff sound amazing, probably turning down the treble a couple of notches helps a lot. Switch to rock, something like Megadeth, and it becomes a shrill party, completely unbearable for me. I don't know if it's a mastering issue or that of the B2's extreme treble.

    MP4Nation:
Well, got it at a good discount with no extra shipping charges and was delivered to my doorstep in India on the 4th day. You guys rock! Although, I wasn't provided with a tracking number which made me worry a little since this was an international delivery.

+ Well extended bass and treble.
    + Airy sound.
+ Good soundstage and instrument separation.
    + unbelievable value
    + no cable microphonics whatsoever
    + quite comfortable
    + nice assortment of buds
+ delivered by the 4th day

    - Treble needs a lot of taming. Sounds shrill on some rock titles.
    - Bass resolution could be better.
    - Mids just a tiny bit harsh, just nitpicking though.
    - Black and white twisted cable is a fashion disaster.
    - very scared to handle the pair because the strain relief at the buds look very delicate
    - earbud housing is plastic and feel cheap

This is the best earphones, which I happened to listen.
  • This is the best earphones, which I happened to listen. They are more linear than my favorite before HiFiMAN RE-ZERO. Excellent. I recommend to buy.

Great little IEM
  • I had a analytical dynamic driver iem from a much cheaper range, but this is tighter.
Fast music is not a problem, everything is crystal clear, it never gets chaotic.
I managed the get the punch out of the bass with EQ, if it's anyones like.
The midbass takes over the lowest ranges a bit though.
Highs are a bit forward but as far as I go, they are not harsh.
This is my first over-the-ear IEM, and for me, it's hard to get a perfect fit, still, isolation is reasonable.
The 45°jack is a welcomed change for me!
Instrument separation is superb, it's got some soundstage, though it is not an out-of-head experience.
The cable does seem cheap, but at least it's comfortable.

Great sound, cheap cable
  • The sound is amazing. Isolation is much better than R-50. However, they could do something to improve the cable. The cable cracked in several places 6 months after normal use. I am planning to buy another one.
