The curious case of the Bluetooth case: suitcase charger and smart lock

May 2, 2015 by Tom in Accessories, GPS, Hardware News, Other with No Comments.

Suitcases with four full-axis wheels were the best thing to happen to travel. Now startup Bluesmart wants to make the next step in luggage innovation with its suitcase that packs in a 10,000mAh battery and USB ports, a Bluetooth-operated smart lock and dedicated laptop safety compartments. Their first product is a carry-on spec 21-inch case which also features 3G and GPS for tracking. While a big battery might add weight woes, the case weighs 8.5lb, so about the same as other roller bags. It began as an indiegogo campaign but with 9,000 orders production will be shifted from the USA to China in the hope the initial $320 price tag can be dropped a notch or two. Via wired

Onda’s Slim GPS Device – The VP73

March 9, 2011 by Alex in GPS, Onda, Other with 2 Comments.

A new addition to Onda's 'VP' family, the VP73 is a slim and slender GPS unit that measures 10.8mm depth wise. This classically basic and neat designed device sports a 5-inch screen with a ratio of 16:9 and a resolution of 800 x 480. Basic and neat can also be said about its newly designed UI on its Win CE OS - a somewhat colourful version of the traditional Onda GPS UI. The whole point of a GPS system is to make driving that much easier be it finding your way around town or parking your car. Fortunately, the VP73 does just that by having an AV-IN feature that pretty much helps you with backing up your car through a reversing visual radar system. Other performance features that will make driving that much easier is the VP73's 'Powerful-X', 'Experience-Plus' and 'Ultra Search' functions.
