IPhone/Galaxy S Hybrid Or Meizu’s High End MX Smartphone? It’s The Later

September 22, 2011 by Alex in Meizu, Other, Other Phone, Phone with No Comments.

However it certainly looks like the former. The MX is Meizu's new smartphone that is so impressive it can be considered high-end, which actually takes away from the appeal of it being an 'inexpensive' china-made device. Thanks to MP4 Nation forum member, chengdude, we've got the scoop on the MX smartphone - it looks like it'll come in two models: a 16GB dual-core version that's to come on the 1st of October (the National Day holiday), and a 32GB quad-core (yup! quad-core!!) version to come later. Find out more after the break. As for what's powering these things - the dual-core version is speculated to be using Samsung's Exynos processor (Samsung Galaxy S II), however the quad-core processor remains a mystery. Kal-el perhaps!? Both versions come with a 4-inch screen with a resolut

Leaks Reveal Meizu’s Plans For An Upcoming Tablet

September 7, 2011 by Alex in Android Tablet, Meizu, Tablet with No Comments.

From web leaks made public by the Chinese State of Intellectual Property Office, we now know that Meizu - the company that managed to shed its stigma of being an iPhone cloner (with one of the first successful models actually!) - are coming out with a tablet that could also be sporting a non-iPad like design. The leak itself is a patent image of the tablet, created by Meizu, which you can see above. There is also one of a case for the tablet. Find out more about the Meizu tab after the break. From the image we can assume that the tablet will come with a full QWERTY keyboard, giving it an Asus Eee Pad Transformer look. There has also been speculations on the tablet running Android Honeycomb as its OS and will be powered by a dual-core (at the least) processor. I guess we are going

Meizu M9: Gingerbread & Amazing Quadrant Score

March 15, 2011 by HS in Android Phone, Meizu, Other, Phone with No Comments.

The Meizu M9 is supposedly getting a Gingerbread 2.3 update before the end of this month, according to M8 Cool. Not only that, but there are some pretty impressive Quadrant benchmark scores from the 2.3 update to the M9, images of which you can see after the break. To refresh your memory, the M9 is a viable Galaxy S / iPhone competitor – at the very least in China, and certainly you can’t rule out internationally – with its 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 960 x 640 and runs Android 2.2, to go along with a 5-megapixel camera capable of 720p HD video recording. It’s powered by the same processor as the Galaxy S – the Samsung S5PC110 and runs Android 2.2. Click to enlarge. via meizu

October 6, 2010 by HS in Meizu, Phone, PMP with 3 Comments.

Snaps of Meizu M9 UI have surfaced and we must say that it is looking sharp. Sporting a customised Android UI, the M9 takes the cake as far as impressive Android customisation goes with their no-nonsense approach to the UI. More images after the break... and these images are worth more than a thousand of my vapid words. [gallery columns="4"] Discuss the snazzy UI on our forums. via meuizume

Meizu M9 Out Of The Box (MID123)

July 21, 2010 by HS in Meizu, Phone with 2 Comments.

The much anticipated Android powered smartphone, the Meizu M9, has been in and out of the rumour mill for a while and has now been unboxed by the folks over at MID123. The Meizu M9 runs on Android version 2.1, features a 1GHz Samsung C110 processor, has 512MB RAM, a 1350mAh battery, and packs a 3.6-inch display at a resolution of 720x480. These specs are something to get excited for, despite the market saturation of similar smartphones. Alongside the 5-megapixel camera is a beautiful aesthetic. Edit: As noted on MID123 website, these photos haven't been authenticated, so they may not be the real deal. via mid123

Could this be the Meizu M9?

March 10, 2010 by Raz in Meizu with No Comments.

Its speculated that Meizu will be releasing the M9 and there have been rumors to what hardware the phone will pack inside. Although the above picture may just be a very well made fan rendering, it does look pretty good.I am pretty interested in the M9, the M8 has got steady improvements and has quite a nice UI, even its own app store and even now the firmware is still considered to be in development. Meizu App Store Opens – a first in China

March 10, 2010 by Raz in Meizu with No Comments.

Regardless of how you feel about Meizu and their M8 phone, you have to give it to them to being a cut above the rest from the rest of the phone and pmp makers in China. They are definitely sticking behind their product with releasing new updates which keep fixing bugs and making their M8 even better. Meizu have now opened their own app store for the M8, i am not sure how many apps are currently there, but it looks like apps will be relatively cheap even for China standard. Via Engadget, Meizume

Meizu M8 User Interface Interactive Video Tour

February 23, 2010 by Raz in Meizu with No Comments.

As you may have seen on a previous video, Meizu has dropped quite a big update for their M8 phone, but you can take the UI experience one step further with this nifty user made M8 UI tour. Click on any of the icons in the video to see what each selection does.I have to give Meizu props for making such a nice UI, even if some of the UI is inspired from the iPhone and Android, but it does show that Meizu does have the talent to at least make a nice and interactive UI.
