Major Bragging Rights For Ainol’s NOVO7? We’re Still Skeptical, But It Sure Looks Good!

Ainol’s NOVO7 Android tablet has come out guns ablaze with boast-worthy specs that has us staggering back with shock and confusion. 2160p video playback!? That means decoding videos with an epic resolution of 3840 x 2160! The internal storage likely wouldn’t be enough to even hold a video of this resolution of any reasonable length – so unless you’re into super HD music videos, we question the real “braggability” of such a capability. Click after the break for the NOVO7′s full specs and great looking image gallery.

The NOVO7 comes with the new-kid-on-the-block processor (a popular new kid at that), the BoxChip A10 processor clocked at 1.2GHz (not the previously claimed 1.5GHz) and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread as its OS. It sports a 7-inch multi-touch capacitive screen with a resolution of 800 x 480, comes with 512MB of DDR 3 RAM and has MicroSD expansion support of up to 16GB. As mentioned, it boasts the capability of 2160p video playback, and supports all your common video file formats (MKV/AVI/WMV, etc) as well as subtitles. The same goes with common audio and image file formats. The tablet also comes with a 2-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel front camera, has WiFi connectivity (802.11 b/g/n), a G-sensor, HDMI supprt and a 4000mAh battery with a 7 hour WiFi on battery life – another skeptical boast, but a hopeful one! Check out all the lovely images of the NOVO7 in the gallery below.

Looks good but it would of been better if they put a kickstand on it. Is mp4nation going to be carrying this model? Thank you.

    2160P sound to me like 1080p + 1080P.

which mean it can output 1080P, while playing a 1080P video on the tablet.

anyway 2 battery connected in parallel, theoretically do meant it has 2 time the “Battery juice”…
But does it add-up to 4000mah, you need to test it with a real 4000mah battery to know.

    Is A10 processor dual core??
Read somewhere that it capability is 600Mhz- 1000Mhz
It seem like they are adding 600Mhz + 600Mhz

    now does 1+1 = 2 ? hehe

I’ve carefully reviewed all the available tablets at the moment. So far, the two tablets I’ve chosen with the best specs for the price were the Novo 7 and Gadmei T820. I’m very picky about battery life and the Novo 7′s teardown shows a single-cell, 14.8 whr / 3.7v battery which accurately reflects 4000 mAh. I went to bbs.imp3.net and the reviews there are getting nearly 8 hours of battery life on looping video playback, which is very good! The only letdown is apparently the screen, which they say is of bad quality. As for the T820, it uses a 5V charger, so I’m positive that it uses a 3.7v battery. Apparently it has 6000 mAh from the specs, but I haven’t seen any teardowns to prove that. But 6000 mAh @ 3.7v is juicy indeed. The Novo 8 has a 7.4v 3600×2 mAh battery and the same Amlogic Cortex A9 chip. I’m expecting the T820 to reach about 6-8 hours, double of what the Novo 8 gets.

But I’ve decided to get a Novo 7. I’m getting mine from AliExpress $155 shipped via UPS Express Saver.
