Google Releases Google Maps 5.5 For Android

Lord knows how long I’ve spent on Google Maps, visiting holiday destination, trespassing into people’s back yards, visiting overseas friend’s neighborhoods and even traveling from home to work on a Sunday! Hours of fun spent on street mode, not to mention it has its practical uses. Well if you’re as sad as me, you’ll revel in the recent news of the latest Google Maps version – Google Maps 5.5 -  being released by the major company for their Android operating system. The updated app brings in features like ‘check in’ and ‘rate and review’ buttons on the Places page that makes it easier for you to… well, check in, rate and review. The update also lets you edit your home/work address for Latitude and has redesigned transit stations, making public transportation traveling that much easier. Google Maps 5.5 is a free app and can be downloaded at the Android Marketplace for your Android device. The only requirement is Android version 1.6 or higher. You can read more about it from the Official Google Mobile blog.
