Linux ported to Onda VX747 – JZ4732 Based players – REALLY!!!!!!

Ok folks time to go looking for that old Onda VX747 player you bought last year, the good people at vm-kernal.org have figured out how to get linux to load on a Ingenic JZ4732 based machine. Although confirmed to work on the VX747, we speculate that most likely the same method can be used to get linux working on any Ingenic based chipset, even the newer VX777.

The best part about this is that the process isn’t that hard, although not a walk in the park, most people will be able to follow the instructions and be able to get linux to run on their VX747. Now for how well the player can handle linux, well, from what some users have reported, that basic apps, like media player, calculator etc open and work as they should.

I myself will be spending some trying this out, now i just have to dig around and find a old VX747 unit to try this on.
